Aura photography

On a recent visit to New York to see my sister, we were in Chinatown for some shopping and dope vegan food when she mentioned she wanted to get an aura portrait. Although relatively obscure, cameras built to capture people’s auras, also known as the electromagnetic field surrounding the body, have existed since the 70’s. Only 100 or so cameras exist today. We visited a crystal and gem shop called Magic Jewellery to have our aura’s photographed. The magical beauty of these portraits is thanks to double exposure, a portrait, and then the aura, captured on Polaroid film after silver laced hand sensors send a charge through the body.

After our photos developed, the photographer gave us a reading and explained our energy that was captured on film. Here’s my photo below:

Different colored auras represent different things, and the strength of the color can also represent how strongly something is felt.

Your photo captures about three weeks’ worth of energy. On the left, energy that is leaving (what has just happened), in the middle and above you, your current state, and to the right and bottom, what is coming your way in the next week or so.

Here’s a brief overview of what each color represents:

Red: Strength, Will Power, New Beginnings, Leadership, Action, Practicality, Passion.

Orange: Creative, Confident, Independent, Collaborative, Excellent People Skills, Loves Challenge.

Tan: Detail Oriented, Cautious, Logical, Strategic, To-Do Lists, Highly Intelligent.

Yellow: Optimistic, Enthusiastic, Open-Minded, Loves Variety and Freedom, Generous, Playful, Whimsical.

Green: Growth, Goal-Oriented, Determined, Focused, Ambitious, Competitive, Perfectionist.

Blue: Depth of Feeling, Trust, Devotion, Loyalty, Nurturing, Personal Relationships, Supportive, Intuitive, Sensitive.

Purple: Visionary, Unconventional, Non-Judgmental, Playful, Loves to be Inspired and Delight Others.

White: Higher Consciousness, Destiny, Intense Energy, Cosmic Wisdom.

Have you ever seen an Aura photograph or had one taken? Let me know what your experience was!
